The program has already exceeded last year’s production by more than 1,500 homes. “We congratulate our partner agencies across Colorado for rising to the call to extend these services to more homes, more families and bring more workers into our New Energy Economy,” said GEO director Tom Plant.

State Gets Close to $1M for Weatherization Job Training
The Colorado Governor’s Energy Office is receiving $963,000 in federal stimulus funds to expand weatherization training programs and establish a new training center in Denver. It is a partnership among the GEO, Saturn Resources Management, Red Rocks Community College and Pueblo CC.

The latest round of funding will go toward energy audits, home insulation and the installation of high-efficiency appliances. Households making as much as 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level — or about $44,100 a year for a family of four — are eligible for the assistance.
