State PUC Approves Black Hills’ 29 Megawatt
Wind Project
The approval of the settlement enables Black Hills Energy to construct and own 50 percent of the wind project and authorized the company to conduct a competitive solicitation for ownership of the other half. The development south of Pueblo will feature Vestas wind turbines built in-state.

Vestas Receives 43 MW Wind Energy Order
The project, which calls for 24 V90-1.8 MW turbines for a Minnesota-based wind farm, “will result in construction jobs and long-term local maintenance positions to be hired,” according to Vestas America President, Martha Wyrsch.
That’s good news for factories in Windsor, Brighton and Pueblo.

The Vestas Tower facility, which takes up an amazing 13 million square feet of space and eight miles of on-site railway tracks for the transport of materials and finished tower components, is expected to produce over 1,000 wind towers annually at peak production.
