State Approves ‘Drilling and Spacing’ in Dougas
and Elbert Counties

Colorado regulators gave the go-ahead for Chesapeake Exploration’s“drilling and spacing” request in Douglas County, as well as two dozen others in neighboring Elbert County. 25 drilling and spacing units received approval, each 640 acres in size, for horizontal wells to be directionally drilled into the Niobrara formation.
