Hiding in Plain Sight

Colorado leads the states of the West with more than 3.1 million tons of coal ash stored in ponds, landfills, and mine pits, according to a new study from the Center for Public Integrity. Wyoming and Utah also have significant amounts of the toxic waste that burned coal at electrical power plants produce.
