Black Hills Energy Begins Operations at New
Wind Farm

The 29-megawatt Busch Ranch Wind development is sited 30 miles south of Pueblo in Huerfano County. It represents the power gen company’s first Colorado wind project, and will connect to the utility’s 94,000 electric customers with 36 miles of new transmission lines.

State PUC Approves Black Hills’ 29 Megawatt
Wind Project

The approval of the settlement enables Black Hills Energy to construct and own 50 percent of the wind project and authorized the company to conduct a competitive solicitation for ownership of the other half. The development south of Pueblo will feature Vestas wind turbines built in-state.
