Delta Petroleum, Evergreen Energy in Trouble
After months of searching for a buyer in vain, and faced with mounting losses, Delta Petroleum Corp., said Friday it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. On the same day Evergreen Energy, which hasn’t found a buyer for its K-Fuel Process is reducing staff to just five employees.

Delta Petroleum Troubles Tops Oil and Gas News
The Denver-based company saw its stock price drop precipitously Wednesday on news of higher dry hole costs and impairments, despite an actual increase of total revenues. Delta said it now believes a restructuring of its indebtedness is likely to be necessary, and without liquidity issues being addressed, Chapter 11 could be an eventual outcome.
