Bill Ritter and the Colorado General Assembly led our state in making great strides toward a new energy economy. I’m proud of the role played by the Public Utilities Commission.

GREEN JOBS? Maybe, But Not the Way You Think

His critics will never acknowledge it, but executive leadership like the kind provided by Colorado’s governor can make a critical difference in a state’s economic well-being, even in the depths of a severe recession. Ritter’s “New Energy Economy” has been touted nationwide as an example of how to balance fossil fuels with renewable sources to diversify a state’s energy portfolio, and many Coloradans — some say a majority — support more regulation of extractive industries, including mining, to protect the state’s natural beauty and outdoor recreation economy.
