Colorado’s Coal Conundrum

While many Colorado citizens are rightly proud of their legislature’s bold leadership on coal, recent developments elsewhere in the country highlight the problems with energy policies that end at a state’s front door. Unfortunately, just as Colorado’s utility regulators are forging ahead towards a cleaner energy future, the state is poised to export record amounts of dirty coal, while simultaneously importing dirty electricity generated by a huge new coal-fired power plant to be built in southwest Kansas.

FERC Approves Black Hills Power’s Rate Formula
