Gas Pipeline Would Bore Beneath
Colorado River on West Slope
The proposed a 22-mile gas pipeline would run from the Divide Creek area under the Colorado River to processing facilities near Parachute. The BLM is seeking public comments on the pipeline proposal.

Forest Managers Propose New Plan for
Oil and Gas Drilling
It would cut off roughly 1.5 million acres of land in the White River National Forest to drilling that had been previously approved in the early 1990’s. The proposal would also bar oil and gas drilling on roadless national forests, but would allow for companies to drill directionally from adjacent, existing roads.

Geothermal Leases in Colorado Will Have to Wait
The BLM has announced it is delaying what was to be the first auction of geothermal leases in Colorado. Federal officials say they need more time to resolve questions about the potential impact of geothermal development on water and property rights.
