Front Range Oil Bonanza Could Mean Billions

The Colorado Front Range holds up to 1.5 billion barrels of oil, based on estimates from Anadarko Petroleum announced this week. An increase in production on a scale of that magnititude would likely produce at least $50 million a year in new severance taxes for budget-strapped state and local governments.
