Cogentrix Gets $90M Conditional Loan From DOE to Build Solar Plant
The 30-megawatt Alamosa Solar Generating Project will use concentrating photovoltaic technology, optical equipment and multijunction solar cells from Amonix that boost conversion efficiency to about 40 percent — nearly double that of conventional panels.

Cogentrix Energy
The utility has signed a 20-year contract with Cogentrix Energy, LLC to obtain 30 megawatts of power from a new concentrating solar power facility to be built in the San Luis Valley. The new plant is believed to be the largest of its kind in the world and will cost between $140 million and $150 million to construct.
