Drilling Regs on Faster Track in Loveland

Anadarko Petroleum Corp., one of the largest and most active oil and gas producers in Northern Colorado, has notified Loveland officials that it has applied for permits to drill just outside the city’s boundary.

The news punctuated a city council meeting that was otherwise devoted to housekeeping duties, and touched off a call from councilors for quicker action on the process of drafting city regulations for the industry’s activities.

Loveland Fire and Rescue Chief Randy Mirowski told councilors that Anadarko’s lawyers had mailed notifications to him that it intends to drill on land annexed to Johnstown.
