5,600 acres in Weld County for oil and gas development

The Colorado State Land Board is holding a special sealed-bid oil and gas lease sale covering 5,638.51 acres located in Weld County in an area known as the National Hog Farms property. The parcels are located in a producing oil and gas area and are considered to have excellent prospects.

The State Land Board holds in trust 10 non-contiguous sections of land in a checkerboard pattern located approximately 8 miles east of the Town of Kersey. The property was previously part of the National Hog Farm operations, which occupied the property from 1989 until 2011.

The Solicitation of Offers containing bid instructions and information on the sale is posted on the State Land Board website at www.colorado.gov/trustlands as of June 15, 2012. Other information in the solicitation will include the Oil and Gas Lease, the Lease Stipulation, the Acquisition Agreement, and other pertinent details about the offering.

Bids are due to the State Land Board office in Denver at 1127 Sherman Street, #300 by 4:00 pm, on July 9, 2012. The winning bidder is anticipated to be selected by July 20, 2012.
