Ridekick – Takin’ It to the Streets in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS — With a product invented and further developed by local engineers, manufactured in Loveland, and sold at a locally-owned shop in Fort Collins, it is fitting that Ridekick International is celebrating its product release on the streets of Fort Collins in a bicycling road rally.

The company designs and sells the Ridekick™ power trailer, a motorized bike trailer that hooks to almost any bicycle and propels the bike up to 19 miles per hour for a distance of about 12 miles and carries about two grocery bags of cargo.
After a year of product and business development, company team members are ready for a playful cruise around Old Town Fort Collins using a fleet of the electric-assist power trailers.
They will make four stops on their road rally, dubbed the “Robin Hood Ride.”
“With a company value of community service, we developed a triple-win program to raise funds for local non-profits dedicated to bicycle advocacy and sustainability. Our route will take us to each of the recipients of these funds – Fort Collins Bicycle Library, Trees, Water and People, and the Fort Collins Bike Co-op. In addition, we’ll stop by the CSU location of our local dealer, Recycled Cycles,” spokesperson, Dee Wanger, said.
“It’s exciting to take this time to honor supporters who believe in the product and to give a financial boost of support to the organizations we believe in.”
Through the Dollars for Demos program that Ridekick International implements, companies committed to sustainability can host a Ridekick power trailer demo ride for their employees and visitors. For each person who test-rides the Ridekick power trailer, Ridekick International will donate one dollar to local non-profits supporting bicycle advocacy and sustainability.
“We were fortunate to be invited to give demo rides at Whole Foods and New Belgium Brewing during Bike to Work Day on June 22,” said Wanger. “In addition to hosting the demos, both companies agreed to match our donations.”
