Neslin Stays on at COGCC for Another Year
Dave Neslin is being retained as director of the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission for another year.
Mike King, executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources made the announcement on Monday. Neslin has headed the agency since November 2007, when he was appointed acting director by Harris Sherman, the DNR’s executive director at the time under former Gov. Bill Ritter.
The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) is responsible for regulating all oil and gas activity in the state. Neslin was asked to reapply for his position when Gov. John Hickenlooper took office in early 2011. He served in his position during the Ritter Administration’s push for more stringent drilling rules and of late has been dealing with the festering hydraulic fracturing issue for much of the past year.
