It may not be anywhere near the scale of other notable European-based renewable energy companies that have moved U.S. operations to Colorado, but the state posted another “win” for the New Energy Economy this week.

Germany-based juwi will move its wind-energy headquarters from Cleveland to Boulder in September, a move that will bring with it roughly 20 jobs to the company’s already 30 workers at its Boulder-based U.S. solar headquarters.

“There are a lot of benefits and synergies, particularly in being able to recruit people,” said Michael Rucker, executive director of juwi wind. The Boulder office will handle project development for the Western region, technical and financial analysis, commercial activities and purchase agreements, Rucker said.

“Despite difficult economic times, Colorado continues to attract 21st-century companies and careers,” Gov. Bill Ritter said in a statement.
