The Geo-administered  program connects residents with millions of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act dollars and dozens of programs and services that officials say will save money, reduce energy use and create jobs

Reported by Ann Rascalli

Residents can tap into the campaign using the soon-to-launch Recharge Colorado website and call center, which were both developed to help people across the state learn how to make energy savings a simple part of their every day lives. The new site will offer personalized energy planning tools and a comprehensive, first-of-its-kind database that will pull in energy-related information from around the state. The site will also help consumers find the latest rebates on energy-efficient appliances, insulation and solar power, the simplest ways to weather-proof their homes at the lowest cost and the newest energy innovations and opportunities available where they live.

Recharge Colorado has a lot to offer consumers when it comes to saving money on efficiency measures, but it is important for anyone interested in applying for a rebate to follow procedures.

To help Colorado Energy News readers get started, we’ve posted this handy FAQ prepared by the Governor’s Energy Office.

“We want citizens to plug into our Recharge Colorado campaign, and learn what they can do to save money and create jobs,” said Governor’s Energy Office director Tom Plant. “Recharge Colorado brings the incentives offered by utilities and local governments across Colorado to a single place, creating a one-stop clearinghouse of information and resources regarding products, rebates, tax breaks and other benefits. This comprehensive resource will give Colorado residents the opportunity to participate in energy conservation in a way that no other state can currently offer.”

“We’re excited to see this statewide campaign to connect more people and communities with the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy,” said Peter Narog, Xcel Energy consumer energy efficiency manager. “For more than two decades, Xcel Energy has helped customers save energy and manage its use as part of our long-standing commitment to environmental leadership. Our customers have long supported such efforts. We join the GEO in calling for residents to Recharge Colorado.”
