Nearly three dozen cities, counties and utilities have joined the Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) in the launch of the ‘Recharge Colorado’ campaign April 19. The partners will team with the GEO to provide a variety of rebates for energy upgrades, including insulation, energy-efficient appliances, energy audits and solar power.

The GEO, using funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, has joined with partners to provide about $18 million in energy efficiency and renewable energy rebates statewide. The rebates will kick off the ‘Recharge Colorado’ campaign and help Coloradans save money, save energy, create jobs and boost our economy.

Residents can tap into the campaign at the RechargeColorado website, where they can reserve a rebate on-line starting today. As a supplement to the web site, a call center will also be available at 1-800-462-0184.

Partners in the Recharge Colorado campaign are providing a benefit to their customers by reserving rebates for households within their territories. Once the partner funds are depleted, the residents and customers can still apply for the standard GEO rebate, provided that funding still exists.

Recharge Colorado creates a one-stop clearinghouse of information and resources by bringing details about products, rebates, tax breaks and other benefits offered by the Governor’s Energy Office, utilities and local governments across Colorado to a single place. The Recharge Colorado campaign is also teaming with the Better Business Bureau to help consumers connect with energy efficiency and renewable energy service providers statewide. On the new site, consumers will be able to access BBB Reliability Reports on businesses that offer applicable services and products.

“We thank the many enthusiastic partners who have joined our Recharge Colorado campaign,” said GEO director Tom Plant. “Together we can give more Colorado residents the opportunity to save money, spark job creation and build energy security and independence in Colorado and the country.”
